Walk This Saturday

Just a reminder that there is a walk this Saturday April 6th. Quaker Lane, Ripponden to see the Little Owl and Native Daffodils with Steve Blacksmith. Meet Ripponden Bowling Green car park SE040196 at 10:30 am. This is an easy to moderate circular of about 5 - 6 miles of gentle walking. There will be a lunch break halfway so bring some refreshments.

  1. The Little Owl has been on roughly the same stretch of wall every year for 4 years - obviously near a nest site. This very late spring may have made a difference.

The daffodil site is now the only one known for native daffodils known in Calderdale, though there used to be several - recorded in our archives.
Again, they may not be showing as well as some of the early garden varieties. But it's always a good walk as well. We'll eat our lunch well out of the wind.
