Shelf Road Toad Crossing?

Hello all,

We've had a mysterious report from Froglife that Toadlets were seen at a potential crossing on Shelf Road last year. Someone filled in their online form to report them, but nothing was ever followed up.

Does anyone know anything about this site? Or would anybody who lives locally be interested in checking this out as the weather gets warmer?

We'd be grateful for any information about this, please get in touch with Hugh Firman if you have further details. Email: Hugh.Firman@calderdale.gov.uk, or phone; 01422 393214.

Thanks, Christine.

  2. I see Shelf Road is in Hebden Bridge near to a known toad migration route so I don't think it needs a visit from you - silly me - I assumed it would be somewhere near Shelf!

Please contact Steve Blacksmith if you want to help out at Washer Lane.

  5. Hi Andy and all volunteers
    We've only had 4, 2, 17, 14, 2, those sorts of numbers per night.

Will call if a big rush of toads starts, or come along anyway.Bring reflective clothing if you have something, and a bucket and a torch.
    Cheers, Steve

    Cheer Steve
