Botanical literature wanted.

Hi all,

I'm searching for either books or reports which cover the distribution of plants (as many groups as possible) within Calderdale. Any contacts or info will be much appreciated and hopefully aid my search for local lepidoptera no end.

Charlie.

  1. Hi Charlie
I have a copy of "The Flora of The Parish of Halifax" 1904 to 1995 compiled by Frank Murgatroyd.

You are welcome to borrow it if you wish.

  2. Hi Bruce, that sounds just the ticket.I'd like to take you up on your offer if that's OK. I live literally round the corner to Steve Blacksmith or I can collect from yours. Hopefully I can buy a copy sometime if anyone knows from where?

If you could either leave a message here or contact me at: charlie.streets@googlemail.com
    Cheers.

  3. Hi Charlie,
I have a copy of the West Yorkshire Plant Atlas if you would like to borrow it. I can leave it with Steve for you if you like.

  4. Hi Linda, when I started mothing a few years ago I made a conscious effort to record species local to myself within Calderdale which I thought would have more value than to travel further a field to sites which may already be covered by others. So bearing that in mind I think Bruce's offer sounds like an ideal choice at the moment.

Many thanks for your kind offer though.
