Hazel catkins

Today, two of our Hazel shrubs were showing the male catkins (lambs tails). Good to know the year is moving on.

  1. A nice sight after the winter blues!

Is this early, late or about right?

  2. Some years, when it has been a mild winter, our hazels have had the catkins before Christmas. But I suppose this winter things are more 'normal'. It's good to see the lime green catkins, especially on these dull days.
