PETITION AGAINST MORE LOSS IN THE AMAZON RAINFOREST

Belo Monte would be a project bigger than the Panama Canal, flooding at least 400,000 acres of rainforest, displacing 40,000 indigenous and local people, and destroying the priceless habitats of countless unique species -- all to create power that could easily be generated through investments in energy efficiency. Please sign the petition.

  2. I have signed this very important petition. T. u. for posting it.

We also all have to search our conciences as to whether we are doing enough for our own natural environment, in Calderdale, and in the UK.
E.g. the Sowerby Bridge/Copley Valley threatened devastation and environmental degradation.

I know you do your bit and more, Linda.
