It's nice to be able to show children wildlife. They seem to be instinctively fascinated.
Only three adults tuned up for the Native Daffodils and Little Owl walk today, and as we had all seen them on an earlier recce this year we went botanising in Wainstalls Clough.
The Butterwort was just emerging from dormancy, but a Marsh Violet was already in flower. Flowerbuds were just visible on the Cranberry.
An interesting mammal sighting was a Short-tailed Field Vole running down the road near the Hinchliffe Arms Pub !
