Liverwort

Seen today in Centre Vale Park at Todmorden is this photo of a Liverwort in flower. I don't know liverworts but it looks very attractive with its spike 'flowers'.

On a steep shady bank in the woodland.

  1. Yes, I've seen that striking liverwort alongside the road up through the woods. It's been there a long time. Must be the climax vegetation for that particular habitat.
The only other place I think I've seen it is beside the road from Hippins Bridge Blackshaw Head, towards Great Rock, just up the slope a little way.
