Soil Hill Snow Buntings

Along with Dave and Nigel we saw 7 Snow Buntings. There were also 7 Skylarks later relocated by David and Nigel.

These are the best I could manage before my fingers froze.

  1. Excellent pics, Bruce. easier to spot them against the snow than next to a house brick!

Can you anybody identify the plants they are feeding on the seeds of?

They may be using a variety of seeds, or is it just one plant they are drawn here by?

  2. To be honest Steve I don't know what they are surviving on. Wild bird seed is occasionally being scattered though.
