Mistletoe in Calderdale

Fairly sure I just saw a big plant on a small tree in People's Park as I passed in the car. King Cross Lane side.
This makes the third record in 2 years in Calderdale. Definitely no historical records.

  1. I understand Mistletoe is becoming pretty scarce everywhere now Steve. Is this destruction of suitable trees or climate change?

  2. Steve says :- There are reports that this is due to traditional orchards being cut down, but possibly climate change has brought it to Calderdale. Unfortunately, it could be a long time before we get berries on our mistletoe because we need male and female plants for pollination.
