Small Copper

Seen on Soil Hill this morning at approx 0855 hrs - my first this year. The only other Butterfly fluttered by and I couldn't nail the id. but it looked very much Tortoiseshell ish.

  1. Well done to get a pic of a very active little butterfly.

    It's on one of its favoured larval food plants - Common Sorrel.

    I believe it can also lay on dock.
