Fungi

Saw this fungi at base of a Turkey Oak tree today. I am guessing it is Pholiota squarrosa -- Shaggy Scaly Cap -- but can anyone confirm this?

  1. Thanks Steve. There had been no sign of this fungi on this old tree until small changes occurred to surrounding land recently. Show how fungi are receptive to change in moisture.
