A Skircoat-found chrysalis

Produced this.
I.d. anybody?
Closest I can get is a species of swift ?
It survived the attentions of the curious fingers of a four year-old granddaughter .

  1. I've just remembered - there's one called Angle Shades. Is this that? And is it in the swift group?

  2. It is indeed a fine looking Angle Shades - family noctuidae (400+ species recorded in the UK). The swifts are hepialidae (5 species in the UK).
