Paraqueet

Heard an unusual bird-call this afternoon in Queens Park at Burnley and saw this couple of Paraqueets. Are they ring-necked? I presume they are male and female; is the male the scruffier one?

  1. Yes, Philip, they are ring-necked. We have a small population in the Pye Nest/ willowfield area of Sowerby Bridge, but ive not heard of them being over at Burnley.

  2. I think usually the male and female look the same when in breeding condition.
