Mistletoe

Had a pleasant surprise this week. When inspecting my apple tree I discovered two new mistletoe plants in addition to the one that germinated four years ago.

I've not added any berries in that time so assume the seeds have lain dormant since then.

Fingers crossed I now have both sexes!

  1. That's good news! How did you apply the seeds? Did you fix them on the bark?

Has your original plant flowered ?

There are only a few known Mistletoe plants in Calderdale, and one just over the border in Kirklees. This latter one must be bird-sown, as it high in a Lime tree.

  2. I just pressed the berries into the bark. The original plant flowered this year.
