At Last, my first for the year.

This Painted Lady hung around for awhile in our garden, our first this year.

  2. I had the good luck to photo a Purple Hairstreak Butterfly (Quercusia quercus) near Scar Wood. The first I've ever got close to. It was a flight-worn female, but still very lively - 14th Sept.
    I posted the pics over on the Calderdale Moths blog.
