Hi Andy,
ReplyDeleteI see Owl pellets quite frequently whilst out walking, with various pieces of small mammal bones sticking out of them. Do you want me to pick them up or leave them in situ for you to retrieve yourself?
Best wishes,
Ali
nice one Alison,If you know which species of Owl its come from then please pick um up if not just let me know where abouts they are, many thanks...
ReplyDeleteHi Andy.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea which species of Owl they are from, as it is usually during the day whilst I am walking the dog, looking for fungi that I come across them. If I find any more, I'll let you know via mobile and let you decide whether to pick them up or leave them for you, to revisit at another time of day or night.
Best wishes,
Ali
However Andy,
ReplyDeleteIf I left them in situ, you'd probably never find them again, being so small. Are you more interested in the prey or the location of the Owl?
Hi Andy, I saw loads of owl pellets at Ogden Water (off the beaten track) and the pine plantation at Cragg Vale, all with small mammal bones sticking out of them...... just a thought if you want to investigate yourself.
ReplyDeleteyep both those sites sound good, where is it at cragg vale and which bit of ogden,??
ReplyDeletei am especially interested in little Owl pellets because they are full of beetles.Which are more likley to in out buildings in farmland,
Hi Andy,
ReplyDeleteGrid reference for Cragg Vale is SE0023 and Ogden is SE0568431197. Good luck!
Nice one thanks...
