Moth

Perhaps one for Charlie.
This moth was inside our window, its about 30mm across. Have you any idea re I.D.?

    Hi Bruce,

    Pugs are notoriously difficult from photos and a 30mm wingspan seems very large.I would GUESS at the melanic form of Brindled Pug - wingspan c 21mm.It's one of the first pugs on the wing and often quite common.

    Andy and Brian Leecy are the guys to ask really.

    Probably over estimated the size! I guessed at around an inch and thats c24mm

    I would say Charlie is bang on with a melanic Brindled Pug...
